Since October 2024, FiRa® Consortium Demo Showcases have become a defining way the ultra-wideband (UWB) ecosystem comes together to show real progress. Held alongside FiRa face-to-face events, these showcases give companies a platform to demonstrate working UWB products and solutions, creating tangible proof of how ultra-wideband is being deployed across industries.
Osaka, Japan
The first FiRa Demo Showcase took place in October 2024 in Osaka. iMago Co., Ltd. demonstrated Chikazuite-Check, a hands-free shopping experience enabled by UWB proximity. Sharp Corporation showcased DL-TDoA capabilities, highlighting precise positioning techniques, while Pinpoint GmbH presented a FiRa-compliant DL-TDOA prototyping kit alongside a LEGIC-powered UWB door lock. Together, these demos illustrated how UWB supports secure access, retail innovation, and accurate positioning.
San Diego, California
In February 2025, the Demo Showcase moved to San Diego, expanding both the range of applications and participating companies. Hangzhou Ultraception demonstrated UWB-enabled TV remotes, dongles, and tags, while IDTAG Technologies AS showcased its IDTAG app and tags. Kyungwoo Systech, Inc. presented KIGIS IPAS, an intelligent proximity alert system. Pinpoint GmbH returned with its FiRa-compliant DL-TDOA prototyping kit and UWB door lock, Xthings demonstrated the Ultraloq Bolt Mission UWB plus NFC, and Qorvo displayed a collection of UWB-enabled devices, including a headset, development boards, remote control, and TV screen.
Porto, Portugal
The June 2025 Demo Showcase in Porto reflected the growing maturity of the ecosystem. LitePoint Corporation demonstrated IQgig-UWB+, while Advantest showcased its Wave Scale RF20ex high-performance RF test instrument. Infrastructure and positioning solutions were on display from Pinpoint GmbH with SATlets, Redpoint Positioning with UWB anchors and tags, and Sunway Communication with wireless UWB anchors for RTLS and secure access control. Qorvo demonstrated PC-based access control, Last Lock showcased its touch-free UWB smart door lock system, WIZZILAB presented WOLT, a high-precision industrial RTLS, and Danalto demonstrated Wi-Fi access points paired with UWB dongles.
Singapore
Later in 2025, the Demo Showcase in Singapore brought new demonstrations to the program. Bluwbee LTD showcased a FiRa UWB and BLE packet sniffer, while NXP Semiconductors demonstrated a UWB-enabled payment solution using its Trimension SR150 with both a POS terminal and mobile device. Eforthink Technology Co., Ltd. presented EforScreenLock, enabling secure PC unlocking using an iPhone. Welzek Technologies Co., Ltd. demonstrated its T6290F radio signal tester, Ultra-Wireless Pte. Ltd. (Chipsbank) introduced a UWB and radar-based TV remote and presence detection solution, and Advantest showcased its V93000 WSRF20ex test solution for UWB semiconductors.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Now, FiRa is preparing for its fifth Demo Showcase on March 23 in Kuala Lumpur. Registration is now open, and participation is open to both FiRa members and non-members.
